Highly touted basketball recruit John Petty will no longer take his official visit to Kentucky this weekend, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.
Petty — a 6-foot-5 wing from Huntsville, Ala. — is planning to reschedule the UK visit. He has narrowed his list to Kentucky and Alabama, which hosted him for an official visit in August. Petty will announce his college decision Nov. 10, the second day of the early signing period.

John Calipari extended a scholarship offer to Petty in April 2015, making him the first player from the class of 2017 to receive an offer from the Wildcats.
UK has already hosted Petty for last year’s Big Blue Madness — an unofficial visit — and there was no immediate word on when Petty now plans to take his official visit to Lexington. There is only one more weekend after this one until the early signing period begins, and UK is scheduled to host five-star shooting guard Lonnie Walker during that time.
247Sports analyst Jerry Meyer told the Herald-Leader on Tuesday that he thinks Petty will ultimately end up at Kentucky.
