Five-star point guard Javonte Smart announced Tuesday morning that he has narrowed his recruitment to six schools: Kentucky, Florida State, Kansas, Louisiana State, Oklahoma State and UCLA.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect from Baton Rouge, La., is currently ranked by Scout.com as the No. 1 point guard and No. 9 overall recruit in the 2018 class, and he’s already taken an unofficial visit to UK and recently hosted Coach John Calipari for an in-home visit in Louisiana.
UK has not yet extended a scholarship offer.
New LSU Coach Will Wade has also made Smart a top priority, visiting his high school to speak with the player, his family and coaches on his first day in charge of the Tigers’ program.
There is no timetable for Smart’s college decision.
