247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer changed his Crystal Ball pick for five-star recruit Bol Bol from Kentucky to Southern Cal on Wednesday.
Bol — a 7-foot-2 prospect in the class of 2018 — started his high school career in Kansas, but he transferred to Mater Dei High School in the Los Angeles area during the middle of this past season. He was the most valuable player of the Nike EYBL regular season this spring and rocketed up the 2018 recruiting rankings, moving as high as No. 2 overall on Scout.com’s board.
Kentucky was seen as a possible favorite after the Wildcats extended Bol a scholarship offer in early May, and he earned an invitation to John Calipari’s U19 training camp last month, though he did not make the final team.
Earlier Wednesday, the Rivals.com recruiting team was split on their predictions for Bol. The four Rivals.com experts predicted four different teams for Bol: UK, Arizona, Southern Cal and UCLA.
