Five-star point guard Ashton Hagans received a scholarship offer from North Carolina on Friday morning.
Hagans — a 6-foot-4 prospect from Covington, Ga. — is among the best point guards in the class of 2019, and he was one of the top performers from that group of recruits during the recent summer travel session. He’s the No. 2 point guard and No. 11 overall prospect nationally for 2019, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
UK has shown considerable interest in Hagans’ recruitment in the early stages, but the Wildcats have not yet extended a scholarship offer. Kentucky has not offered any players from the 2019 class yet.
Kansas, UConn and most of the schools in the Southeastern Conference have also extended offers to Hagans. 247Sports analysts Jerry Meyer and Andrew Slater are both predicting that UK will ultimately land Hagans, according to the player’s Crystal Ball page.
