Scout.com updates its class of 2018 player rankings Friday, and several Kentucky recruiting targets are high on the list.
Marvin Bagley remains the No. 1 prospect in the class. The 6-foot-11 power forward from Arizona — now living in California — is still attempting to reclassify to 2017, and he has taken official visits to Duke, UCLA and Southern Cal in recent weeks. Those are the three favorites if he makes the move to 2017, and UK, Kansas and Arizona remain on his list, too.
Class of 2018 newcomer R.J. Barrett moves into the No. 2 spot behind Bagley after reclassifying from the 2019 class last month. UK is expected to be among the favorites in Barrett’s recruitment.
UK targets Bol Bol, Zion Williamson and Cameron Reddish fill out the top five.
Other major UK targets in the rankings include Romeo Langford (No. 6), Darius Garland (No. 8), Immanuel Quickley (No. 9), Simi Shittu (No. 10) and Quentin Grimes (No. 12).
Quickley moved up one spot in the rankings, Shittu moved up five spots, and Grimes jumped 11 spots.
The Herald-Leader asked several national recruiting analysts this week to pick UK’s most likely commitments from the 2018 class. Quickley, Williamson, Shittu and Reddish led that list.
