Kentucky coaches are now scheduled to have an in-home visit with five-star basketball recruit Zion Williamson on Wednesday, the Herald-Leader has learned.
Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — was originally supposed to host John Calipari for a visit Monday, but that meeting had to be rescheduled due to the effects of Hurricane Irma. Calipari met with Keldon Johnson on Monday, visited Simi Shittu on Tuesday and will now see Williamson on Wednesday.
247Sports ranks Williamson as the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2018.
Kansas Coach Bill Self is expected to visit Williamson on Tuesday night, and the Jayhawks are widely seen as Kentucky’s top competition in the recruitment, though Williamson is also getting serious interest from Duke, UCLA, North Carolina and in-state schools Clemson and South Carolina.
Williamson will take his official visit to Kentucky next weekend.
