Five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley officially signed with the University of Kentucky during a ceremony at his high school Thursday morning, becoming the first recruit from the class of 2018 to sign with the Wildcats.
Quickley remains UK’s only commitment for the 2018 class, though the Cats are expected to pick up more additions during the early signing period, which ends Wednesday.
The 6-foot-3 point guard from Maryland committed to UK back in September, and he’s the No. 8 overall prospect in the senior class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Quickley averaged 23.7 points and 7.2 assists per game as a junior at John Carroll High School (Md.) last season.
UK typically does not confirm or publicly comment on new signees until the end of the signing period.
