Four-star shooting guard Tyler Herro said Sunday night that he will announce his college decision Tuesday, one day before the end of the early signing period and just a couple of days after wrapping up his official visit to Kentucky.
UK has emerged as the major favorite in the recruitment of Herro, a 6-foot-5 prospect from Milwaukee who backed out of a commitment to Wisconsin last month. He took his first official visit to UK over the weekend, and he will not be visiting any other schools between now and his college announcement.
Herro averaged 23.9 points per game and shot 39 percent from three-point range as a high school junior. He played this past summer on the Nike circuit, averaging 14.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game against the nation’s top competition. He’s the No. 36 overall prospect in the 2018 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
UK has already signed five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley and five-star wing Keldon Johnson from the 2018 class.
