UK basketball signee Tyler Herro announced Wednesday that he has been named to the U.S. team for the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Ore., in April.
Herro will be one of 12 American players in the game, which is one of the premier postseason all-star events in high school basketball. The limited number of prospects chosen for the game actually makes it more exclusive than the McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic.
ESPN elevated Herro — a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Milwaukee — to five-star status earlier in the week. He’s the No. 25 overall prospect in the ESPN rankings.
Blessed to announce I have been 1 of 12 selected to play for the USA Nike Hoop Summit team in April. Another opportunity to represent 🇺🇸.
