A UK assistant coach and North Carolina head coach Roy Williams were in Georgia on Wednesday visiting the high school of five-star post player E.J. Montgomery, one of the top uncommitted recruits in the class of 2018.
Montgomery — a 6-foot-10 power forward from Marietta, Ga. — has a list that still includes Kentucky, Duke, UNC, UCLA and several other schools. He’s expected to cut that list to five programs in the next few days.
North Carolina has commitments from two five-star players — small forward Nassir Little and combo guard Coby White — as well as Top 100 recruit Rechon Black, another small forward in the 2018 class.
247Sports ranks Montgomery as the No. 6 overall prospect in the 2018 class.
