Three-star linebacker KD McDaniel announced Monday night that he has committed to the University of Kentucky for the class of 2019.
McDaniel — a 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect from Tifton, Ga. — picked up a scholarship offer from the Wildcats last month, and he joins four-star defensive back Keontra Smith as UK’s second commitment for the 2019 class.
Rivals.com ranks McDaniel as the No. 63 overall recruit from the talent-rich state of Georgia, and he’s the No. 54 outside linebacker nationally for the 2019 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also had reported scholarship offers from South Carolina, South Florida, Central Florida and Troy, among others.
UK landed two recruits from the state of Georgia in the 2018 class: running back Chris Rodriguez and offensive lineman Jerquavion Mahone. UK defensive coordinator Matt House is McDaniel’s lead recruiter.
