UK signees Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson have been selected to play in next month’s Jordan Brand Classic, it was announced Thursday morning.
The game will be played April 8 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Johnson was also selected earlier this year for the McDonald’s All-American Game, which is scheduled for March 28 in Atlanta. Herro was not chosen for that game.
UK’s other signee for 2018, five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley, was selected for the McDonald’s Game but was not among the 25 players picked for the Jordan Brand Classic, which features mostly recruits who played on the Nike summer circuit. Quickley played in the Adidas league.
Top UK target E.J. Montgomery — another former Adidas player — also was left off the Jordan Brand Classic roster, which has just one uncommitted recruit: top-10 prospect Anfernee Simons, a post-graduate player who will be eligible for this year’s NBA Draft.
