Louisville Trinity guard David Johnson has already been committed to the hometown Cardinals once in his recruitment.
The prospect from the class of 2019 committed to U of L under head coach Rick Pitino and then backed off of that pledge after Pitino was let go last fall. The 247Sports Crystal Ball says Johnson should be a Cardinal again in the future.
National recruiting analyst Evan Daniels, who has a near-100-percent success rate with Crystal Ball picks, is the latest to log a pro-Louisville prediction for Johnson, who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 41 overall prospect in the 2019 class.
New U of L coach Chris Mack recruited Johnson when he was at Xavier, and Louisville looked to be well-positioned to get a re-commitment from the local star no matter who the next coach of the Cardinals was going to be.
U of L has all nine picks on Johnson’s Crystal Ball page. The talented in-state prospect has visited UK in the past, but the Cats have not shown much interest in his recruitment in recent months.
