None of the three Kentucky basketball players who are still on the fence about this year’s NBA Draft were included in the latest, 60-pick mock draft released by ESPN on Monday morning.
PJ Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel all have until May 30 — 10 days after the NBA Combine — to decide whether or not to keep their names in this year’s draft. The new ESPN mock draft “attempts to project which players will end up declaring and keeping their names in the draft.” Several other players who have not yet fully declared for the draft are included in the new mock draft.
In the most recent update to the ESPN Top 100 rankings over the weekend, Washington is listed as the No. 51 overall player, Vanderbilt is at No. 63, and Gabriel is not included. That projection would put Washington in the late second round and leave Vanderbilt and Gabriel out of the draft, if they were to remain in the pool.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (No. 12 pick), Kevin Knox (No. 15) and Hamidou Diallo (No. 40) are all included in ESPN’s new mock draft. All three of those players have declared for the NBA Draft and will keep their names in the draft pool.
