Three-star offensive tackle Jake Pope announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky on Wednesday night.
Pope — a 6-foot-7, 275-pound prospect from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — picked up a scholarship offer from UK last month. He also has power-five offers from Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, North Carolina State and Illinois.
247Sports ranks Pope as the No. 104 offensive tackle nationally in the class of 2019, and he’s the Wildcats’ second commitment for the O-line in that group, joining West Jessamine’s Eli Cox, who committed last week.
Pope is UK’s sixth overall commitment for the 2019 class and third in the past four days. On Monday night, the Cats landed three-star quarterback Nik Scalzo, who is also from Fort Lauderdale. A day before that, three-star defensive back Jalen Geiger committed to Kentucky.
