New basketball rankings for the class of 2019

Carey unveiled its new basketball recruiting rankings for the class of 2019 on Monday, and UK target Vernon Carey remains on the top of the list at No. 1.

Carey — a 6-foot-10 power forward from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — has narrowed his choices to UK, Duke, Miami, Michigan State and North Carolina. He is expected to take an official visit to UK this fall. broke down his recruitment and made a case for his No. 1 ranking in a separate post Monday.

Elite point guard Cole Anthony, who has been quiet about his recruitment, is No. 2 in the new rankings. He’s followed by top UK target James Wiseman at No. 3, possible UK target Jaden McDaniels at No. 4, and UK target Matthew Hurt at No. 5.

Isiah Stewart, who has been receiving interest from UK in recent days, is No. 6, and he’s followed by Kentucky commitment Tyrese Maxey at No. 7, with uncommitted prospects Precious Achiuwa, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Josh Green rounding out the top 10.

UK is not recruiting Achiuwa or Robinson-Earl, though the Cats have shown some interest in Green.

The full Rivals 150 for the 2019 class will be posted Tuesday.
