Highly touted combo guard Kira Lewis told reporters at an event in Las Vegas late Thursday night that he is considering reclassifying to 2018.
Lewis, currently the No. 30 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings for 2019, has been getting looks from Kentucky’s coaches all summer, though he has not yet received a scholarship offer from the Wildcats. He visited UK in June.
Whether he stays in 2019 or makes the move to 2018, Alabama is looking like a major favorite in Lewis’ recruitment. National recruiting insider Andrew Slater reported Thursday night that Lewis will make a final decision on reclassification in early August.
Lewis, who just turned 17 years old in April, has also said that Auburn, Texas Christian, Kansas, Indiana and Mississippi have been recruiting him hard. The Alabama native averaged 20.3 points per game during the Nike regular season this past spring.
