Around the time that five-star post player Isaiah Stewart announced that he would take an official visit to Kentucky this weekend, national recruiting expert Brian Snow logged a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Wildcats.
Snow, who is listed as the “lead expert” on Stewart’s 247Sports page, is the first national analyst to pick the Cats for the 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, N.Y., but more pro-UK predictions are likely to follow soon. Duke, Michigan State and Villanova had been viewed as the main contenders for Stewart until John Calipari jumped into his recruitment earlier this month.
Stewart, who does have a UK scholarship offer, took an official visit to Washington this past weekend and is expected to make a college decision in time to sign during the November period.
He averaged 17.6 points and 10.6 rebounds this spring on the highly competitive Nike circuit, earning first-team honors in that league. Stewart, who plays his high school ball for La Lumiere (Ind.), is the No. 5 overall player in the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
