Four-star forward Zeke Nnaji cut his recruiting list to five schools Sunday, and Kentucky is no longer in contention.
Nnaji — a 6-foot-10 prospect from Hopkins, Minn. — listed Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Purdue and UCLA as his final five schools. He was the first prospect that UK Coach John Calipari visited to start the fall recruiting period earlier this month, and Nnaji received a Wildcats scholarship offer during that meeting. He’s the No. 34 overall player in the 2019 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Kentucky is still in the mix for several other frontcourt players in the 2019 class, including five-star centers Isaiah Stewart and Oscar Tshiebwe, who both took official visits to Lexington this past weekend. Others on the Cats’ radar include top-10 power forwards James Wiseman, Vernon Carey and Matthew Hurt, who was a teammate of Nnaji’s on the Adidas circuit this past summer.
