National analyst Evan Daniels changed his pick on Stewart from Kentucky to “foggy” last week, and some other recruiting analysts who had been predicting Kentucky followed that lead.
Two more picks from national analysts came in Tuesday morning, and they went in different directions. First, 247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer logged a prediction for Michigan State. And then, 247Sports national analyst Brian Snow, who is listed as the “lead expert” on Stewart’s player page, logged a prediction in favor of Washington.
Stewart took official visits to Washington and Kentucky — the first two of his recruitment — late last month. His list also includes Duke, Indiana, Michigan State, Syracuse and Villanova, though he’s already taken unofficial visits to all of those schools and has said he might not need to take any more official visits before making a college decision. There is no timetable for that announcement.
Someone familiar with Stewart’s recruitment told the Herald-Leader over the weekend that Kentucky should not be discounted as a possible landing spot, despite the recent run of Crystal Ball picks, and mentioned Michigan State as another program with a great chance to land his commitment.
Stewart — a 6-foot-9 prospect from Rochester, N.Y. — is the No. 5 player in the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
