ESPN recruiting insider Jeff Borzello is now predicting that Kentucky is in the best position to land highly touted forward Keion Brooks, who is taking his official visit to Lexington this weekend.
In Borzello’s latest “Hot Board” post chronicling the top official visits of the week, he predicted UK would ultimately land the 6-foot-7 prospect from Fort Wayne, Ind., though he put his confidence level on that pick at 35 percent in what has been a tough-to-read recruitment.
Brooks has already taken official visits to UCLA and Indiana, and he’ll take official visits to North Carolina and Michigan State next month. Purdue is also among his finalists. ESPN ranks Brooks as the No. 33 overall player in the class of 2019, and he was one of the first recruits from that group to land a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
This prediction is especially interesting since Indiana has been seen by some as a favorite in Brooks’ recruitment for the past few months. Michigan State has also been viewed as a top contender in Brooks’ recruitment.
Borzello also made predictions for UK targets Cole Anthony, Vernon Carey, Isaiah Stewart and James Wiseman — all on official visits of their own this weekend — but none of those picks were in Kentucky’s favor. ESPN Plus subscribers can read his full post here.
