Neither Cole Anthony nor Vernon Carey is still on Kentucky’s recruiting radar for the class of 2019, but those two players remain top-five national prospects and should have major impacts on college basketball next season.
That means there’s still quite a bit of national interest in where they will end up at the next level. Over the weekend, a couple of national analysts logged new Crystal Ball predictions for both players.
247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer is now predicting that Carey — the No. 2 overall player in the 2019 class, according to the composite rankings — will pick Duke later this week. Carey, a longtime UK target, recently narrowed his list to Duke, Michigan State and North Carolina and will reveal his college choice Thursday.
National recruiting expert Andrew Slater has made a Crystal Ball pick in favor for Oregon for Anthony, who is the No. 3 player in the 247Sports composite rankings. Anthony is also considering Georgetown, Miami, Notre Dame, Wake Forest and UNC, which has been seen by some as a leader in his recruitment. He has no timetable for a college decision.
