UK basketball signee Dontaie Allen turned in his fifth 50-plus point game of the season Thursday, scoring 52 points in Pendleton County’s 89-70 over St. Henry.
Allen — a 6-foot-6 wing — was 19-for-33 from the field, 2-for-11 from three-point range, 12 of 15 on free throws and grabbed 10 rebounds, blocked seven shots, and added one assist and one steal. He passed Pendleton County great Talbert Turner in the fourth quarter to become the school’s all-time leading scorer. Allen now has 3,188 points for his high school career.
The future Kentucky Wildcat is averaging 44.6 points and 14.9 rebounds per game this season. Despite the subpar three-point shooting effort Thursday, he has still made 42 threes and is shooting 38.5 percent from long range in 11 games this season. Allen is shooting 75 percent from the free throw line.
