Wisconsin recruiting insider Evan Flood has logged a new prediction in favor of Duke on the 247Sports Crystal Ball page of Jalen Johnson, one of UK’s top basketball targets in the class of 2020.
Johnson — a 6-foot-8 small forward from Milwaukee — has visited Lexington for each of UK’s past two Big Blue Madness events, and he was one of the first prospects from the 2020 class to land a scholarship offer from the Wildcats. Johnson, who played this past summer on the Nike circuit, averaged 18.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game as a high school sophomore and has been one of the most impressive juniors in the country this season.
Wisconsin has made Johnson its No. 1 recruiting priority for more than a year, and a Duke prediction from a local recruiting insider has to be seen as a positive for the Blue Devils, who hosted Johnson for an official visit in October. 247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer is among the others that have made predictions in favor of Duke.
Johnson is the No. 4 overall player in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
