Cooper — a 6-foot-1 prospect in the class of 2020 — was the second point guard from that group to land a UK scholarship offer, joining Virginia native Jeremy Roach, who is sidelined for his junior season with a torn ACL.
Kentucky is scheduled to host Cooper for a recruiting visit next month coinciding with its home game against Auburn, which is currently the leader on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page. Cooper is the No. 21 overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Cooper scored 27 points in a nationally televised game Monday afternoon and dropped 32 points in his team’s victory Tuesday night. He was named the offensive player of the year on the Nike circuit last summer after averaging 22.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game.
