Rivals.com’s basketball rankings week continued Wednesday with an updated list for the class of 2020, and there’s a new name at the top.
California post player Evan Mobley has taken over the No. 1 spot in Rivals’ 2020 rankings, but he is not a UK recruiting target. Mobley is the son of Southern Cal assistant coach Eric Mobley and the younger brother of USC signee Isaiah Mobley, and — though Evan hasn’t committed to the Trojans just yet — the assumption is he will ultimately join his family at USC.
That makes California guard Jalen Green the top-rated UK target in the new Rivals rankings. Green dropped one spot to No. 2 overall, and he was one of the first players in the 2020 class to land a scholarship offer from the Wildcats.
Other high school juniors with UK offers are Wisconsin forward Jalen Johnson (No. 3), Florida forward Scottie Barnes (No. 4), Texas guard RJ Hampton (No. 5), Mali post player N’Faly Dante (No. 8), Georgia point guard Sharife Cooper (No. 16) and Virginia point guard Jeremy Roach (No. 21).
Also of high interest is power forward Isaiah Todd, who is No. 13 in the new rankings and told Rivals.com last week that he’s thinking about a move to 2019, with UK as a possible destination.
No Kentucky high school players made the updated Rivals 150 for 2020.
