PJ Washington is staying in the NBA Draft, and he could be a lottery pick, according to the newest mock draft released by ESPN on Thursday morning.
Washington is listed as tied for 12th with two other players in the new mock draft, which notes that ties in the draft order will be settled by the NBA on Friday. The first 14 picks in the draft are considered lottery selections. Washington announced earlier this week that he would enter the draft and hire an agent, and he and UK both implied that he would keep his name in the draft and not return to school for a third season.
Two UK teammates, Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson, have not yet said they will definitely keep their names in the draft, though both will go through the evaluation process. ESPN has Herro in a tie for 16th with one other player, and Johnson in a tie for 21st with one other player. That would put both Wildcats safely in the first round, and it’s been rare for such players to return to Kentucky for another season of college ball.
No other UK players are listed in ESPN’s mock draft, which includes a full 60 picks.
