Rivals.com national analysts Eric Bossi and Corey Evans have logged new predictions on a couple of major UK basketball targets over the past few days, and both picks have gone against the Wildcats.
Bossi has put in a prediction in favor of Duke for five-star forward Matthew Hurt, who is expected to choose among the Blue Devils, Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina on Friday afternoon. Duke has emerged as the major favorite in Hurt’s recruitment over the past few weeks, and several national analysts are predicting the Blue Devils will land his commitment going into Friday’s announcement.
Evans recently made a pick in favor of Kansas for five-star combo guard RJ Hampton, who is currently the No. 5 overall prospect in the junior class but has been open about the possibility of a move to the 2019 class, which would allow him to play college basketball next season.
Hampton has cut his list to four schools — Kansas, Kentucky, Duke and Memphis — and Evans told the Herald-Leader last week that he thinks KU and Memphis are the most likely landing spots if Hampton does indeed reclassify to 2019. UK and Duke recently got word that their starting point guards from this past season — Ashton Hagans and Tre Jones, respectively — will return for next season.
