ESPN’s latest NBA mock draft for next year is out, and it includes a trio of Kentucky Wildcats in the first round.
Incoming guard Tyrese Maxey is the highest-ranked player on ESPN’s board, listed at No. 12 overall, which would put him in lottery range. The early mock draft also includes fellow freshman Kahlil Whitney at No. 19 overall and returning point guard Ashton Hagans at No. 30, the final pick of the first round.
ESPN’s early mock draft does not include EJ Montgomery, Keion Brooks or any of Kentucky’s other highly touted players for next season. Also absent from the list is coveted graduate transfer Kerry Blackshear Jr., who is expected to make a decision on his destination for next season soon.
Longtime UK target and Memphis signee James Wiseman is No. 1 in the mock draft, followed by Georgia signee Anthony Edwards, North Carolina signee Cole Anthony, and international prospects Theo Maledon and Deni Avdija.
