Five-star center N’Faly Dante is expected to announce a decision on whether or not he’ll reclassify to 2019 and play college basketball this season in the coming days, and Kentucky got some very good news related to his recruitment Saturday.
Rivals.com national analyst Eric Bossi logged a Future Cast prediction for Dante in favor of the Wildcats, who hosted the 7-footer for an official visit late last month and have been working hard to add another frontcourt player to their 2019-20 roster. The Herald-Leader has been told repeatedly over the past few months that Dante is likely to make the move from the 2020 class to 2019, which would allow him to play this season.
If the Sunrise Christian (Kan.) standout were to pick Kentucky, he’d join Nick Richards, EJ Montgomery and Nate Sestina in the Cats’ frontcourt. Rivals.com currently ranks Dante as the No. 9 overall recruit in the 2020 class.
Oregon and Louisiana State have long been seen as the frontrunners in Dante’s recruitment, and the Herald-Leader was told Saturday afternoon that the Ducks remain UK’s top competition in the battle for his commitment, which could come any day now.
