On the same day that five-star center N’Faly Dante announced his commitment to Oregon, the Ducks picked up a major prediction from a prominent national analyst.
Rivals.com’s Corey Evans logged a Future Cast pick in favor of Oregon on Tuesday for top-10 recruit Scottie Barnes, one of the top prospects in the class of 2020 and the first player from that group to land a scholarship offer from the Kentucky Wildcats.
Barnes — a 6-foot-7 wing from Florida — hasn’t said much about his recruitment in recent months, but he did narrow his list earlier this year to eight schools: Kentucky, Oregon, Duke, California, Kansas, Miami, Florida State and Ohio State.
Despite the early offer from Kentucky, the Ducks and Miami are the two programs that have received the most attention this spring and summer. Barnes has not set an exact timetable for his college commitment. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 6 overall player in the 2020 class.
