Kentucky Coach John Calipari will be in New Jersey on Wednesday night to see Jonathan Kuminga, according to national recruiting expert Andrew Slater.

Kuminga — a 6-foot-8 forward from the Congo, now playing for The Patrick School (N.J.) — is the unanimous No. 1 overall player in the class of 2021, and he was the first recruit from that group to land a scholarship offer from Kentucky. That offer came on a visit to Lexington for a game last season.

Duke is among many other major programs that have offered Kuminga, who played in front of Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski earlier this week. He is widely expected to reclassify to 2020 and play college basketball next season, though a final decision on that move — and his ultimate college destination — is not expected for another few months. There’s no clear favorite on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

The Patrick School is the alma mater of current Kentucky center Nick Richards.
