The buzz surrounding Kentucky and five-star shooting guard Jaden Hardy is only getting stronger.
On Sunday — the same day that John Calipari visited Hardy in Las Vegas — national recruiting expert Andrew Slater logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball pick in favor of the Wildcats, who have made the 6-foot-4 shooting guard one of their top priorities in the 2021 class.
Calipari has traveled to see Hardy a few times since the fall, including setting up a UK practice at the player’s Coronado High School to kick off the Cats’ two-game Vegas trip last month. Hardy is expected to come to Lexington for a recruiting visit in the near future.
He is the No. 7 overall player in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, and Hardy is generally seen as the best guard prospect in that group. He had 62 points in a game last week and has regularly gone for 40 or more points in games this season.
Rivals.com national analyst Corey Evans has also told the Herald-Leader recently that he thinks Kentucky is the early leader in Hardy’s recruitment.
