Kentucky’s recruitment of four-star small forward Bryce Hopkins is proceeding quickly, and national recruiting experts are starting to line up their predictions in favor of the Wildcats.
247Sports analysts Jerry Meyer, Travis Branham and Brian Snow have all logged Crystal Ball picks in Kentucky’s favor on Hopkins’ page over the past few days. The Herald-Leader was told last week that a UK commitment from Hopkins could be coming as soon as the next couple of weeks.
Kentucky Coach John Calipari extended a scholarship offer to Hopkins during a video call with the 6-foot-6 prospect and his family Friday night. The Chicago-area standout had been committed to Louisville for nine months before backing out of that pledge earlier this month.
Hopkins is the No. 33 overall recruit in the 2021 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He projects as a multi-year college player who could make an immediate impact at a school like Kentucky due to his toughness and versatility.
He averaged 24 points, 10 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as a high school junior.
