Class of 2019 national rankings 247Sports

A late addition to the 2019 recruiting class, Edwards announced in November that he intended to reclassify from 2020 and was immediately named the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2019 by 247Sports.
The 6-5 shooting guard possesses major NBA upside as a go-to scorer with the versatility and strength to excel from the perimeter in what is likely to be just one season of college basketball. In addition to his ability to create off the dribble, Edwards is a terrific shooter from long range (45 percent from threes on the Under Armour Circuit this past summer).
At the time of his reclassification, Edwards told 247Sports that Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State and North Carolina were the five schools prioritizing him, and all five of those programs had already extended scholarship offers.
Edwards won’t turn 18 years old until August, but he will be eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft and should continue to contend for the No. 1 overall ranking as his final season of high school basketball unfolds.

High school stats

Edwards averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game as a sophomore in high school, then averaged 21.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game on the Under Armour circuit this past summer.

“He will have to continue to earn it going forward, but for now, Anthony Edwards is the new No. 1 prospect in the class of 2019. If anybody else is going to take it from him, they will have to make a big improvement with one part of their game.”
