A highly athletic, high upside wing in the 2020 class, Fletcher popped up on Kentucky’s recruiting radar during his junior season of high school and emerged as a major UK recruiting target over the spring and summer.
“It’s a matter of turning all of these athletic tools into consistent production and then rounding out his ball handling and jump shooting,” said Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi. “Consistency and skill are going to be the areas that are going to be getting drilled into his head for the next few years.”
Fletcher isn’t ranked as highly as some past and present UK commitments, but John Calipari and his coaching staff clearly see great things ahead for the St. Louis native. UK assistant Kenny Payne was courtside on the very first night of the spring recruiting period to see him play.
Kentucky is expected to have several talented guards and wings on next season’s team, and Fletcher projects as a multi-year player for the Wildcats.
Fletcher averaged 12.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game during Nike EYBL regular season play in 2019.
“He’s a big-time athlete, and most of his game is predicated on that athleticism right now. He excels in kind of an up and down setting, and he’s one of those guys that — if he gets a couple of buckets early and is feeling good about himself — he can get it going in more of a halfcourt setting, too.”
