Isaiah Briscoe will bring plenty of length to UK’s backcourt next season.

According to official measurements released by Team USA on Saturday, the future UK point guard has a height of 6’3.25″ (with shoes) and a 6’9.5″ wingspan. Those measurements were taken during Team USA’s U19 training camp earlier this week.

Briscoe made the final U19 roster, but he was unable to travel with the squad to the FIBA world championships in Greece due to a concussion suffered in Thursday’s practice session.

University of Kentucky signee Isaiah Briscoe will be unable to continue with the Team USA U19 squad after suffering a concussion during Thursday’s practice, USA Basketball announced Friday morning.

Virginia Tech guard Justin Bibbs will replace Briscoe on the team, which will compete at the FIBA world championships in Greece later this month.

“I feel very bad for Isaiah. He had a tremendous attitude and was one of our overall best players and one of our leaders of the team,” said USA U19 head coach Sean Miller of Arizona. “It is very, very unfortunate to see him get injured in what was really a two-on-two drill. But the good news is I know he’ll recover and be fine; the bad news is he won’t be able to play on our team.”

UK basketball signee Isaiah Briscoe is one of 21 players expected to participate in USA Basketball’s U19 training camp, which begins Saturday.

Twelve players from the two-week camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., will be chosen to represent the United States at the FIBA world championships later this month in Greece.

Briscoe — a 6-foot-3 point guard from New Jersey — seems like a good bet to make the team. He is one of nine players invited to the camp who have led Team USA junior squads to gold medals in the past. He’s also one of three returning players from last year’s FIBA Americas U18 team, which won a gold medal last summer to qualify the United States for the U19 world championships.

Karl-Anthony Towns won’t play alongside Isaiah Briscoe at UK, but he knows plenty about the incoming point guard’s game.

Towns said he and Briscoe were AAU teammates in New Jersey from grades 1-7. They went their separate ways before high school, and Towns didn’t play AAU ball once he got to that stage in his basketball career.

Still, the now-former UK center followed Briscoe’s success, which included leading his AAU team to a Nike Peach Jam title last summer and his high school team to a New Jersey Tournament of Champions title last month.
