Class of 2014 guard JaQuan Lyle has eliminated Kentucky from his list of 10 schools.

Evansville, Ind., point guard JaQuan Lyle tweeted Tuesday night that Kentucky is no longer on his list of schools.

Lyle, the No. 13 overall player in the class of 2014, narrowed his list to 10 schools a few weeks ago. Kentucky was the only team on the list that had not offered.

Florida was not among his final 10 schools, but the Gators still reached out to offer Lyle a scholarship last week. They have now replaced UK on his list of 10, which also includes Texas, Louisville, Indiana, Georgetown, Illinois, N.C. State, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Tennessee.

Lyle made an unofficial visit to UK in October for Big Blue Madness. The Cats are still involved (and have offered) Tyus Jones and Emmanuel Mudiay, the top two point guards in the class of 2014.

Class of 2014 guard JaQuan Lyle trimmed his list to 10 schools Tuesday, and Kentucky remains among his possible destinations.

We’re less than a month away from Big Blue Madness, and fans wishing to attend will need to make plans to get their tickets sometime this week.

Tickets for the Oct. 12 event at Rupp Arena will be made available Saturday at 7 a.m. As always, the tickets will be free, but fans will have to be quick about it.

UK said last year’s event “sold out” in less than an hour.

The university has asked fans wishing to camp outside Memorial Coliseum not to do so until Wednesday at 7 a.m. Tickets will also be available through Ticketmaster.com and UKAthletics.com. There will be a small fee if you acquire tickets online. (Looks like $1.25 on Ticketmaster).

There will be a limit of four tickets “per person” if you go to Memorial Coliseum, and four tickets “per household” if you go the online route.

JaQuan Lyle is planning to visit UK for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 12.

As John Calipari travels the country this week, one of his expected destinations is Evansville’s Bosse High School.

The reason: Class of 2014 point guard JaQuan Lyle.

Bosse coach Shane Burkhart told the Herald-Leader on Monday that he is expecting Calipari to visit sometime during the contact period, which started Sunday.

“He’s coming in, we just don’t know when,” Burkhart said. “I know one of the things that Coach has expressed to JaQuan is that, right now, he’s really concentrating on 2013. He has to, and we completely understand that. We’re extremely excited about him coming in.

“He’s going to call and tell us he’s coming in, and we’re going to say, ‘Great, thank you, come on in, and we’re excited to see you.’”

The football Cats didn’t have a very good Sunday, and one of the top basketball recruits in the class of 2014 was there to see it.

Indiana native JaQuan Lyle attended the UK-Louisville football game as part of his unofficial weekend visit to U of L. At one point, he tweeted a photo from his (very good) seats at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

He also made an announcement during the game. He’ll be visiting UK for the program’s Alumni Game on Sept. 15.
