247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Slater logged a Crystal Ball pick on Wednesday predicting that five-star post player Mohamed Bamba will ultimately commit to Texas.

The McDonald’s All-American Game, Jordan Brand Classic and Nike Hoop Summit have come and gone, but there might be one more opportunity for UK’s signees to deliver their pitch in person to five-star recruit Mohamed Bamba.

Rosters for the Ball Is Life All-American Game in Long Beach, Calif., were released Tuesday, and Bamba is listed on the Team Elite squad, which also features UK signees Quade Green and PJ Washington.

The latest episode of national recruiting analyst Evan Daniels’ podcast, “The Sidelines,” was released Wednesday, and Daniels was joined by Scout.com colleague Brian Snow to talk about some of the top uncommitted prospects in the 2017 class.

UK targets Mohamed Bamba and Kevin Knox are obviously on that list — both are top-10 players in the Scout.com rankings — and the two analysts were more bullish on UK’s chances with Bamba than Knox.

Snow said that he’s hearing the most buzz for UK and Texas for Bamba right now. His other two finalists are Duke and Michigan. The 7-footer from Harlem, N.Y., is close to UK signee Quade Green — his teammate from the Nike circuit — but he was also coached by Shaka Smart with the Team USA U18 squad last summer.

A couple of weeks after five-star basketball recruit Mohamed Bamba’s official visit to UK, things continue to look up for the Wildcats.

Kentucky now has a majority of the picks on Bamba’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page, with Duke running second. National insider Andrew Slater switched his prediction from Duke to “Foggy” on Monday. Chad Lykins, who covers Duke for the website, switched his pick to UK on Monday.

Bamba — a 7-footer from Harlem, N.Y. — is ranked as high as No. 2 overall in the class of 2017 (by Scout.com), and he has narrowed his list to UK, Duke, Michigan and Texas. He’s not expected to make a college decision until the spring, but Kentucky has generated the most behind-the-scenes buzz in recent weeks.

Five-star basketball recruit Mohamed Bamba is back home after his official visit to UK over the weekend, and the trip was a busy one.

Bamba — a 7-footer from Harlem, N.Y. — arrived in Lexington late Thursday night and started the official visit Friday, when one of the highlights included attending a UK practice the day before the Wildcats took on South Carolina in Rupp Arena.

Before Saturday’s game, Bamba and UK assistant coach Tony Barbee were at Ashford Stud for a visit with American Pharoah, winner of the 2015 Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Classic. Bamba attended UK’s victory over South Carolina in Rupp later that day.

Bamba — the No. 2 overall recruit in the class of 2017, according to Scout.com — flew into town late Thursday night and started his official visit to UK on Friday. He’s been one of the Wildcats’ top priorities in the 2017 recruiting class for more than a year.

Duke will host Bamba for an official visit next month. He’s already taken official visits to Michigan and Texas. Scout.com’s Evan Daniels spoke to the Herald-Leader about Bamba’s recruitment earlier this week.

Mohamed Bamba — the top-ranked, uncommitted basketball recruit left in the class of 2017 — will play a nationally televised game on ESPN on Saturday night.

Bamba, the No. 2 overall player in the Scout.com rankings, leads Westtown School (Pa.) against fellow 7-footer and No. 1-ranked recruit DeAndre Ayton and Hillcrest Prep (Ariz.) at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Ayton has signed with Arizona.

UK hosted Bamba for an unofficial visit on Big Blue Madness weekend. The Wildcats and Duke are split at 50-50 on Bamba’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page, and national analyst Jerry Meyer switched his prediction for Bamba from Duke to Kentucky on Thursday.

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer changed his Crystal Ball pick for five-star basketball recruit Mohamed Bamba from Duke to Kentucky on Thursday.

“I just don’t get the feel that Duke is after him with the same fervor (as UK),” Meyer said in a 247Sports Facebook Live session Thursday. “I think his relationship with Quade Green (helps).”

UK Coach John Calipari visited Bamba — a 7-footer from Harlem, N.Y. — at his high school in Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Bamba is the No. 3 overall prospect in the class of 2017, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

John Calipari and UK assistant coach Tony Barbee will be in Pennsylvania on Wednesday to see the Westtown School (Pa.) duo of Mohamed Bamba and Cameron Reddish, according to recruiting analyst Pat Lawless.
