Cooper

Rivals.com national analyst Eric Bossi logged a Future Cast prediction this week for five-star point guard Sharife Cooper, who received a UK scholarship offer last fall.

Bossi joins several other national recruiting experts in picking Auburn to land Cooper, a 5-foot-11 prospect from the Atlanta area that has been strongly linked to the Tigers over the past several months. Fellow Rivals analyst Corey Evans is also picking Auburn for Cooper, and the Tigers have a huge lead on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

Cooper is the No. 15 overall player in the Rivals.com rankings for the 2020 class, and he’s No. 17 nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. Earlier this year, he became the first non-senior to earn national high school player of the year honors from MaxPreps.com after averaging 28.6 points, 8.6 assists and 4.1 steals per game while leading his team to an undefeated season.

Boston

There was a flurry of Crystal Ball activity related to top recruits in the 2020 class Wednesday, and it contained both good and bad news for Kentucky.

First, the good: national recruiting experts Jerry Meyer and Andrew Slater both logged predictions in favor of the Wildcats for five-star shooting guard Brandon Boston, one of the best perimeter prospects in the country and the No. 8 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings for the class of 2020.

Boston — a 6-foot-6 recruit from the Atlanta area — visited Kentucky for a home game a few months ago and recently told the Herald-Leader that he was impressed by that trip.

Cooper

UK Coach John Calipari was in Georgia on Wednesday night to watch Sharife Cooper, one of UK’s top 2020 recruiting targets and an elite point guard in the junior class.

Cooper — a 6-foot prospect from the Atlanta area — has been arguably the top player in all of high school basketball this season. He received a UK scholarship offer prior to the season and was one of the standouts on the Nike circuit this past summer. Cooper is the No. 18 overall player in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Auburn is seen as another possible frontrunner in the early stages Cooper’s recruitment. His father talked to the Herald-Leader about the five-star point guard earlier this month. You can read that story here.

Cooper

UK Coach John Calipari was in Georgia on Wednesday to visit with five-star point guard Sharife Cooper, according to USA Today recruiting reporter Jason Jordan.

Cooper — a 6-foot-1 prospect in the class of 2020 — was the second point guard from that group to land a UK scholarship offer, joining Virginia native Jeremy Roach, who is sidelined for his junior season with a torn ACL.

Kentucky is scheduled to host Cooper for a recruiting visit next month coinciding with its home game against Auburn, which is currently the leader on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page. Cooper is the No. 21 overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
