Three-star defensive back Akeem Hayes flipped his commitment from Louisville to Kentucky on Tuesday night.

Hayes — a 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect from Hollywood, Fla. — recently attended a camp at Kentucky and becomes the latest player from Chaminade-Madonna Prep to choose the Wildcats.

“I love the relationship the Kentucky coaching staff and I have built in these last couple months of my recruiting process,” Hayes said on Twitter on Tuesday night. “After talking it over with my family I’ve decided to flip my commitment to the University of Kentucky.”

Hayes had been committed to Louisville for a little less than two months.

Kentucky now has 13 commitments for the class of 2018, and the Wildcats’ group of recruits is ranked No. 19 nationally and No. 4 in the SEC, according to Rivals.com.

Keontra Smith — one of the top 100 football prospects in the class of 2019 — committed to Kentucky on Saturday morning.

Smith — a 5-foot-11 defensive back from Hollywood, Fla. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 57 overall prospect and No. 5 safety nationally in the 2019 class. He will be a junior this fall at Chaminade-Madonna Prep, the same school that features Marvin Alexander and Davoan Hawkins, two players who have already committed to UK for the 2018 class.

Junior college defensive back Domonique Williams announced his commitment to Kentucky on Thursday night, choosing the Wildcats over fellow finalists Colorado State and Iowa State.

Williams — a 5-foot-10 prospect from Knoxville, Tenn. — was a freshman at Highland Community College (Kan.) last fall and will join Kentucky for the class of 2018, making him the Cats’ 11th commitment in that group.

He is the first defensive back to join UK’s 2018 class, and Dean Hood was his primary recruiter for the Wildcats. Williams was actually committed to Hood — then the head coach at Eastern Kentucky — coming out of high school.

Three-star wide receiver Shocky Jacques-Louis decommitted from Kentucky’s class of 2018 on Sunday morning. Jacques-Louis recently visited Tennessee and South Carolina, which have both offered, and he’s also picked up offers from Michigan, Georgia, Louisville and Michigan State.

Kentucky added another offensive lineman to its recruiting class of 2018 on Sunday with the commitment of Quintin Wilson, a three-star interior lineman from Cincinnati.

Wilson — a 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect — is the No. 8 center nationally in the 2018 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 5 center for 2018, and Scout.com classifies him as an offensive guard.

247Sports national analyst Steve Wiltfong is now predicting that four-star offensive lineman Marquan McCall will ultimately commit to Kentucky.

McCall — a 6-foot-3, 280-pound prospect from Oak Park, Mich. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 100 overall recruit and No. 3 offensive guard nationally in the class of 2018.

He visited UK for the program’s spring game last month, and he also has scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and several other major programs.

UK recently picked up a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Darian Kinnard.

Three-star wide receiver Cadarius Gaskin announced Monday morning that he is no longer committed to the UK football team.

Gaskin — a 6-foot-3 prospect from Delray Beach, Fla. — had been committed to the Wildcats for less than a month, and he declared his recruitment to be “open” moving forward. He has not yet visited Lexington but still plans to do so sometime before his senior season, meaning he still considers UK an option moving forward.

UK picked up one of its biggest commitments yet for the class of 2018 on Sunday with the pledge of four-star offensive lineman Darian Kinnard, another talented prospect out of the state of Ohio.

Kinnard — a 6-foot-7, 335-pound prospect from Cleveland — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 17 offensive tackle in the 2018 class. He’s also considered to be the No. 161 national recruit and No. 6 rising senior from Ohio.

“I would like to announce that I will be committing to something huge,” Kinnard tweeted Sunday night. “Get ready Kentucky, I’ll see you soon.”

Class of 2019 quarterback Paul Tyson — the great grandson of legendary coach Bear Bryant — said Thursday morning that he has received a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky.

Tyson — a 6-foot-4, 210-pound prospect — attends Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, and he has received some recruiting interest from Alabama and Clemson, though his only previous scholarship offer came Wednesday from Jacksonville State.

247Sports national analyst Steve Wiltfong logged predictions in favor of Kentucky on the Crystal Ball pages of two football recruits from the class of 2018 on Wednesday.

Wiltfong is picking the Wildcats for four-star offensive lineman Darian Kinnard and three-star safety Taj Ward, both from the state of Ohio.

Kinnard — a 6-foot-7, 335-pound prospect from Cincinnati — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 17 offensive tackle nationally in the 2018 class. He has offers from Penn State, Maryland, UCLA and several others, and coaches from Ohio State have evaluated him in recent days.
