Trinity defensive end Stephen Herron is already committed to Michigan, but there’s a new prediction on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

247 national recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction Monday morning that Herron — the No. 1 recruit in the state of Kentucky for the class of 2019 — will ultimately flip his commitment to Stanford.

Herron, who has an offer from UK and has been to Lexington in the past on recruiting visits, is the state’s No. 1 rising senior, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 68 overall national recruit and No. 5 weakside defensive end in the 2019 class.

Michigan landed Herron’s commitment back in July.

UK has done a good bit of its football recruiting in the state of Ohio over the past few years, most recently heading north and plucking four-star linebacker Chris Oats away from Ohio State earlier this month.

The Buckeyes might be returning the favor in 2019.

Ohio State is picking up Crystal Ball predictions for Louisville Christian wide receiver Milton Wright, the No. 1 prospect from the state of Kentucky for the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports rankings.

Vince Marrow had taken over recruiting duties for Lewis recently, and the high-upside offensive tackle joins Darian Kinnard, Quintin Wilson, Kenneth Horsey and Marquan McCall as the fifth O-lineman in UK’s 2018 class. Ohio State has overtaken Kentucky on the 247Sports Crystal Ball page for class of 2018 football recruit Chris Oats, a four-star linebacker from Ohio and one of the Wildcats’ top remaining targets for this class.

Ohio recruiting analyst Bill Greene is among those who have changed their predictions from UK to the Buckeyes for Oats, who is the No. 22 outside linebacker in the class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Greene told the Herald-Leader earlier this month that he thought UK led for Oats, but the team to watch would be Ohio State.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball continues to trend from Kentucky to Louisville on four-star tight end Leonard Taylor, who is at U of L for his official visit this weekend.

Taylor — a 6-foot-6 prospect from Ohio — took an official visit to UK last month, and Ohio recruiting analyst Bill Greene told the Herald-Leader last week that he thought the Cats still had the best shot to land his commitment. The hang-up was that Kentucky had started recruiting Taylor as a defensive end, and tight end might still be his preferred position in college.

Four-star football recruit Leonard Taylor is expected to take his official visit to Louisville this weekend, and there’s a new prediction in favor of the Cardinals on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

Mike Hughes, who covers U of L for 247Sports, logged a pick for the Cardinals on Taylor’s page Thursday morning. A large majority of the predictions for Taylor have gone in favor of the Wildcats, who have been recruiting him for more than a year.

UK has been recruiting the versatile Taylor — a 6-foot-6 prospect from Ohio — as a defensive end, but he’s been projected as a tight end for most of his high school career.

Three-star wide receiver Meechi Harris announced Tuesday morning that he is no longer committed to Kentucky for the class of 2018.

Harris — a 6-foot-2 prospect from Xenia, Ohio — originally committed to Kentucky in October and was expected to sign with the Wildcats on Wednesday, the first day of the new early signing period for college football.

247Sports ranks him as the No. 75 wide receiver nationally in the class of 2018, and his defection leaves UK with two commitments from wide receivers and 20 commitments overall.
