Lafayette offensive lineman Jedrick Wills moved up to the No. 16 spot in the latest Rivals.com recruiting rankings released Monday.
Wills, a 6-foot-5, 318-pound offensive tackle, was previously ranked 17th by the service and as the third-best offensive lineman. In the latest ratings Wills is ranked No. 4 among offensive linemen, behind fellow five-star prospects Foster Sarell, Isaiah Wilson and Josh Myers. Of those four, only Myers — an Ohio State committ — has picked a college.
Kentucky was long thought to be the leader in Wills’ recruitment but now 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions favor Alabama. Wills told reporters that his recruitment is still open following Lafayette’s win over Paul Laurence Dunbar on Friday night.
Coach Eric Shaw told Dan Rieffer on Saturday that Wills’ decision is likely to come this week. Shaw told the Herald-Leader he does not expect there to be a ceremony.
Lafayette head coach Eric Shaw says Jed Wills report has taken “crazy spin,” says decision likely to come next week.
