Update: Zion Williamson will not sign during the early period.

Clemson has been talked about as a school to watch in Zion Williamson’s recruitment for weeks, and the Tigers are finally getting some momentum on the top prospect’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

Several pro-Clemson predictions have been logged on Williamson’s page this week, including a big one from national recruiting insider Andrew Slater on Wednesday. Slater is the top-ranked recruiting analyst in the Crystal Ball standings for the class of 2018. He also covered Williamson’s season opener in South Carolina on Tuesday night.

As reported earlier this week, UK assistant coach Joel Justus was in South Carolina on Tuesday to visit five-star recruit Zion Williamson, who is arguably the Wildcats’ top target in the 2018 class.

Justus won’t be the only coach seeing Williamson this week.

Clemson was also in to see the in-state target Tuesday, and coaches from Duke, Kansas and North Carolina are all expected to see Williamson on Wednesday. Though the 6-foot-6 small forward has not set a date for his college announcement, there is a chance he could sign with a school during the early period, which ends Nov. 15.

Kentucky is currently the leader on Williamson’s 247Sports Crystal Ball page.

A UK assistant coach is expected to be in South Carolina on Tuesday to see top recruit Zion Williamson, the Herald-Leader has learned.

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — is the No. 1 overall player in the 247Sports rankings for the class of 2018, and he’s the No. 2 player nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s arguably UK’s top remaining target for next year’s recruiting class.

Duke is expected to visit Williamson on Wednesday.

Williamson has narrowed his recruiting list to Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, Clemson and South Carolina, and he has taken visits to all six of those schools this fall. He could make a college decision in time for the fall signing period, which ends Nov. 15.

Five-star basketball recruit Zion Williamson will take an official visit to North Carolina this weekend, according to Rivals.com analyst Corey Evans.

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — was originally scheduled to take an official visit to UCLA this weekend, but he cancelled that trip and has cut the Bruins from his list. He’s already been on official visits to Kentucky, Duke and Kansas. Home-state schools Clemson and South Carolina are also on his list.

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyer spoke to the Herald-Leader this week about Williamson’s recruitment. He’s still predicting that the No. 2 player in the 2018 composite rankings will end up at Kentucky.

National recruiting analyst Andrew Slater switched his 247Sports Crystal Ball pick for Zion Williamson from Kansas to “foggy” on Monday.

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2018 class. He’s No. 2 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Slater is the No. 1-ranked analyst in the 247Sports Crystal Ball standings. He changed his pick for Williamson to “foggy,” a designation that means there isn’t enough credible information on a recruitment to predict a specific team.

He’s the No. 1 overall player in the 247Sports rankings and the No. 2 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Williamson is also considering Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina and UCLA. He has not yet set a date for his college announcement, but a decision in time for the early signing period next month remains a possibility.

Five-star basketball recruit Zion Williamson made it to Columbia on Saturday night for the South Carolina-Kentucky football game, two days after he had an in-home meeting with Gamecocks Coach Frank Martin.

Williamson — the No. 2 overall recruit in the class of 2018 — met with Martin on the field before the game, which featured two schools still on his recruiting list. Williamson has also had recent visits — either in-home or on-campus — with Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, UCLA and Clemson.

UK’s John Calipari met with Williamson last week and is expected to host the Spartanburg, S.C., native for an official visit to Lexington this coming weekend. It would be the first official visit of Williamson’s recruitment, which also includes scheduled official visits to Duke, Kansas and UCLA later this fall.

Kentucky coaches are now scheduled to have an in-home visit with five-star basketball recruit Zion Williamson on Wednesday, the Herald-Leader has learned.

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — was originally supposed to host John Calipari for a visit Monday, but that meeting had to be rescheduled due to the effects of Hurricane Irma.
