Bell was the second commitment from the class of 2013, pledging to the Cats a few days after attending a Kentucky football camp. Bell picked UK over offers from Notre Dame, Florida State, Clemson, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, among other top schools.
Rivals.com ranks Bell as the No. 21 weakside defensive end in the class of 2013, and the No. 79 overall player from the state of Florida. Scout.com, the service that ranks Bell as a four-star recruit, has him as the No. 34 defensive end in the class.
ESPN.com describes Bell as “still a bit raw” and a prospect that “needs a redshirt to continue to grow physically and as a player, but his best football is a little down the road if he gets more from the ability he flashes.”

“He’s relentless when he wants to be. He’s a hustle kid. He’s the fastest kid on the football team.”

- High school coach Carlos Menendez (to the Herald-Leader)
