      UK was the first school to offer Hyde a scholarship. In turn, Hyde became the Cats’ first commitment from the class of 2013. He was also the only commitment from the state of Kentucky until Ryan Timmons joined him the day before signing day.
      Rivals.com has him as the seventh-best prospect in the Bluegrass. He’s rated nationally as a top-60 defensive tackle by Rivals (47th), ESPN (55th) and 24/7 Sports (51st).
      “The big man shows flashes and with further development and more consistency could be a good, tough interior D-Lineman,” says his ESPN evaluation.
      Hyde also had some early interest from SEC schools Mississippi State, Missouri and Texas A&M, as well as Louisville.
