Badet caught 63 passes for 881 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior season, also running in six TDs. The No. 106 overall receiver class according to ESPN, Badet picked the Cats over Wake Forest and Iowa State. He decommitted from South Florida in December after the Bulls fired head coach Skip Holtz.
ESPN’s evaluation of Badet calls him a “competitive and smart player with many redeeming qualities” and speculates that “if he were faster he would be much more highly coveted.”
Badet might not be as fast as other elite receivers in the class, but he clearly has some athleticism. The Orlando native finished fifth in the long jump at last year’s state meet and also competed in the triple jump.
“This is one of those players you just can’t help but like because he is so savvy and productive. … He is ultra-quick, very sudden and an ideal candidate in the slot.”
