Timmons is one of the most highly touted high school players from Central Kentucky in recent years. The Franklin County star was the first recruit to get a visit from a member of the new UK coaching staff, and the early interest resulted in the first big in-state commitment for Mark Stoops.
Timmons is listed by various outlets as a wide receiver, running back and athlete. He patterns his game after Vikings star Percy Harvin and wants to play receiver, running back and return kicks as soon as he gets to college. ESPN ranks him as the 28th-best athlete in the country, and 24/7 Sports has him as the No. 23 overall running back.
He had 45 touchdowns as a senior — finding the end zone about once out of every three touches. Timmons also topped 1,000 yards in both rushing (1,306) and receiving (1,004), while adding 341 return yards despite the fact that teams usually kicked away from him.
“You can tell people what he does, but unless they see it for themselves, see it live, they can’t appreciate it.”
- High school coach Chris Tracy
