Kemp, one of the nation’s top running back prospects, should get the opportunity to make an impact right away at Kentucky.
ESPN rates Kemp as the No. 28 overall running back in the senior class, and Rivals.com calls him the No. 10 all-purpose back. He has the ability to catch passes out of the backfield, which should be a major plus in new offensive coordinator Neal Brown’s system.
“The offense is great,” Kemp told Cats Illustrated after his official visit to UK in January. “They run downhill which is what I like. Coach (Mark) Stoops told me … he’s going to get me the ball. He said as soon as I come in I’ll be running with the (first team).”
Kemp chose UK over Pittsburgh, West Virginia and South Florida, the school he decommitted from during his senior season.

“Kemp is an exciting and productive running back. Not only is he effective as a ball carrier but his receiving skills allow him to threaten defenses as a check down back and wide receiver.”
