Borden was one of the first two signees announced in the Mark Stoops era.
The junior college tight end from Texas caught 11 passes for 181 yards and four touchdowns, earning second-team all-conference honors for Kilgore College.
“Steven brings us a player who is very versatile and brings the physical presence we need at the tight end position,” Stoops said. “We can move him around in the offense and play different positions. We’re excited to have him join us.”
Borden has also gained attention for being the son of professional wrestler Sting, who accompanied him on his recruiting visit to Lexington.
Borden will have two years of eligibility at UK.
“The greatest thing about Steven is his work ethic. He is relentless, always trying to get better.”
- Josh Pruitt, Kilgore offensive coordinator
