John Calipari was a little late in offering a scholarship to Knox, but that hasn’t worked against Kentucky, which has been included in the five-star player’s list of five finalists.
Calipari watched Knox as much as anyone during the spring and summer, and he’s also watched him with his high school team this winter. The versatile forward was named MaxPreps.com’s national junior of the year after averaging 29.6 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for Tampa Catholic last season. He averaged 28.9 points and 11.3 rebounds per game as a senior.
Kentucky will be competing with ACC programs Duke, North Carolina and Florida State (as well as newcomer Missouri) for Knox’s commitment. His father, also named Kevin Knox, was a standout wide receiver for the Seminoles.
Knox has visited each of his four remaining schools multiple times this season. He attended Big Blue Madness in October on an unofficial visit and returned in late January for the Wildcats’ home game against Kansas.
|Oct. 28||Official visit to Duke|

|April 9||Official visit to Missouri|
Knox averaged 18.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for Each1 Teach1 on the Nike circuit.
Knox is targeting late April and early May for his college decision.
